Ladusvalan har hittat en bra boplats och börjar nu samla lera för att bygga sitt bo utav.

The barn swallow had found a good place for its nest and is now starting to collect clay to build his nest out of.

Varje år bygger ladusvalorna bo i fågeltornet i Södra Lunden. Ofta kan man se dem sitta på tornets räcke, bara några meter bort. Det är ett utmärkt tillfälle att njuta av deras fjäderdräkt som faktiskt är mycket färggrannare än den verkar när de vanligt vis susar förbi i full fart.

Every year, barn swallows build a nest in the bird tower in Södra Lunden, Ottenby. Often you can see them sitting on the railing of the tower, just a few meters away. It's a great opportunity to enjoy their plumage which is actually much more colorful than it appears when you see them whiz by at full speed.

The barn swallows that have built a nest in the bird tower in Södra Lunden are used to people. The most difficult thing is, for once, not to get close but to find an angle of view that is not disturbed too much by the fence of the tower. The photo was taken through the fence, which blurs the lower part of the image.

Arga leken! Ladusvalan visar tydligt att det här är hans område, inkräktare göre sig icke besvär.

Inte mycket rörelse vid södra udden strax innan solnedgången. Kanske berodde det på vindarna? Ladusvalorna som häckade i vindskyddet kunde inte ta rast utan var tvungna att leta mat till sina ungar oavsett vad de tyckte om blåsten. Bästa möjligheten att fånga flugor var lågt över strandvallen där de svepte fram precis över marken. Med stativet på lägsta höjd gick det att komma i jämnhöjd med svalorna, att hitta dem i sökaren och låsa fokus på dem var dock en helt annan utmaning!

Not much movement at the southern tip of Öland just before sunset. Maybe it was because of the winds? The barn swallows that nested in the area could not rest but had to find food for their young regardless of what they thought of the wind. Their best opportunity to catch flies was low over the seawall where they swept by just above the ground. With the tripod at its lowest height, it was possible to get level with the swallows, finding them in the viewfinder and locking focus on them was a completely different challenge, however!

Ladusvala födosökande precis över marken. Det var en utmaning att komma ner så lågt med kameran och kunna följa svalan när den snabbt passerade förbi.
