A gray November day when the light just isn't any where to be found you enjoy every bird you see even more. A few curlews spend the winter around the coast of southern Öland and with a long shutter speed it was possible to capture both the movement in the water and the color changes that the sea offers as one of them flew past.
The dunlin is both the most common small shorebird and also the most distinctive with its black belly patch. A few months later, in winter plumage, all the shorebirds look alike unless you look very closely.
