Three amigos
Three blue anemones in the evening light with a background of oak leaves from last year.
Liverleaf in soft focus
Macro with fully open aperture for the short depth of field and some oak leaves from last year between the lens and the flower for a softer image. The contrasts are enhanced in post processing
Liverleaf with warm background
This liverleaf is one of many thousands of Nunnedalen in southeastern Öland. Some of the others act as background. The sunlight is filtered through the naked branches, creating a soft, warm light.
Mayflower in april
The mayflower ('Majblomman') is Sweden's biggest children's charity organisation, started 1907. The original mayflowers were sold for the benefit for children with tubercolosis. The color of the (artificial) flower varies from year to year but according to tradition every fifth year the flower should be blue. Although that tradition was abandond in 2012, this year should have been a blue year making this liverleaf a good candidate.
After the snowfall
The liverleafs were standing tall when the winter returned for a short while with almost a decimetre of snow covering the ground. The snow thawed quickly, but it was obvious the flowers took a beating from the cold. A flash was used to separate this liverleaf from the background that was quite messy.
Let the light shine on me!
The sunlight was filtered through the branches like directed spotlights down on the spring flowers on the ground. In this tuft of wood and yellow anemones, it was just a single white anemone that got to enjoy the sun's warmth.
One of many
In early spring the ground in Nunnedalen is covered by flowers. At the beginning of april liverleafs dominate and the ground is covered by a blue rug. In the middle of the day the light is very hard, here I have tried to soften the light by placing leaves from last year just in front of the lens.
Daisy
This common daisy was growing in the cover of a shrubby cinquefoil.
Ängsnycklar
The sun is about to set over Alvaret and all the late spring flower that now burst in to bloom. This is a backlit early marsh-orchid.
Head above the rest
The daisies were growing lika a thick white carpet on the ground. a few of them were tall enough to stand out from the crowd
Hanging on
Covered in dew, the three last seeds cling to the dandelion. This is a focus stack from seven photos.
Won't let go
The last seeds from this dandelion is covered with dew. The magnification is about 3 times and the image is focus stacked from 63 photos. The photos were taken outdoors so it was much work to merge them in Helicon Focus and Photoshop.
Icy moss
Early spring and and cold nights gives the budding vegetation a fine cover of ice crystals
Sharing the last drop
A drop of water on moss spores.
Anemone in warm light
Last year's oak leaves and the setting sun act as background for this blue anemone
First light
A blue anemone in the evening sun. The flower has broken through the thick cover of oak leaves from last year to finally get its time in the spring light.

Evening colors
As the sun is about to set the colors become more intense. Here a common hepatica is caught as the last rays of sunshine hits the background
Wood Anemone
Part of a white, ground covering mat, of wood anemone
One of the first days with spring warmth, these common hepatica tried to come as close to the sun as possible.
Common hepaticas with more hepaticas in the background giving a nice blue background-
