The Långe Erik lighthouse located on Öland's northern most point lights up the darkness under the Milky Way. The lighting in the lighthouse is now changed from its original position to a dimmer bulb that is attached to the railing itself, which makes it look as if the light has been placed incorrectly in the picture. The picture is a panorama in three rows of seven, six and six panes respectively, where each pane consists of four exposures stacked to reduce the noise.
In the autumn, the Milky Way stretches almost vertically across the sky. The center of the galaxy has already disappeared below the horizon as darkness descends over the old burial ground in Gettlinge and the wind mill that stands there. This evening, the Milky Way is joined by Jupiter and Saturn, which appear almost unnaturally large in the faint haze. The image is a panorama with three images in height. Each such image consists of eight exposures stacked to reduce noise. 21 images of the foreground that were illuminated at different angles with a flashlight to balance the light from the street lamp behind me were also used for the final result.
