On its way to the food, the blue tit pause to scout the surroundings. The stick it landed on is in the shade so a flash was used to put some light to the scene.
The marsh tit chose a seat in the shade on a dark and snowless winter day. Adding a flash at lowest setting made it possible to photograph it anyway.
The blue tit found a sheltered place inside a juniper bush. There was an opening to photograph through, and with the help of a flash enough light could be obtained.
