The water pipit is a rare winter migrant to Öland. This one found a ditch with some water that had not yet frozen in the otherwise snow covered landscape.

No doubt about it, this skylark has spotted me!
On a rock next to the gravel road, this skylark was keeping watch. Probably it had its nest on the fields behind. With the car as a hide, it was easy to get close without the lark stopped singing.
